The state of Texas provides great fishing all year around. Texas has a number of good fishing spots that can be reached by using charter boats or by fishing offshore. There are a number of resources available to fishermen that provide information on fishing seasons, weather conditions, fish species and the type of baits that are effective. Texas fishermen can fish from jetties, beaches or piers for flounder, Speckled Trout, Sheepshead, Sand Trout, Croaker, Whiting, Bull Reds and Gafftop. Another great fishing method used to catch Texan saltwater fish is offshore. Fishing from the shore line and on out to sea as far as one hundred miles will give a fisherman the opportunity to catch many different species. Some of the best fishing in Texas is at about the one hundred mile range. A fisherman can hook Dorado, Sailfish, Tuna, Wahoo, Hammerhead and Tiger sharks, Blue Marlin, White Marlin, Tuna, Wahoo, Dorado and Sailfish.
